Chavez Chills with Sean Penn

Rabble-rousing actor/Madonna ex Sean Penn is taking his show on the road -- with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. The politically-charged star has been hanging with Venezuela's socialist leader during a tour of the Venezuelan countryside.

The Chavez-Penn love affair was sparked, said Chavez, because Penn is "anti-Bush." Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte have also had face time with the Venezuelan leader.

Said Penn of his visit: "I'm also here as a journalist and so I owe it to that medium to wait until I've digested, fact-checked and finished my journey here" before saying more. The "Mystic River" actor has also done reporting stints in Iran and Iraq.

Your so self righteous you feel you have the golden ticket to inside knowledge of all things worldly. The anyone who believe's differently must be force fed by television while you gather your opinion's from far more superior channels. It is not other people who have the very limited view my dear. Your child like banter ( well well what about Bush!) is like hanging onto a favorite blanket, Pull it out when all else fails.

32. Argh!!! On PerezHilton, some people are commenting on how Chavez is no worse than Bush!!! Are you freakin kidding me???!!!! This guy is a murdering dictator -ask the people of Venezuela - after they've fled the country! If America and our leadership were so bad, we'd be intertubing across the open ocean to get to Cuba, not the other way around! EFF Sean Penn big time -maybe Bush'll cut off his head!

33. You guys are far too quick to become a hanging jury. Penn has not made a statement.
He has the money to find out the 360 degree of things for himself, and is, to satisfy his own questions. He has been hired for his articles by different publications, and may indeed be on a working assignment. Why are you so afraid of learning things from an alternate source who grew up in your country" Hmmmm? I live in another country, and Chavez is NOT demonized elsewhere like he is( for some reason) in some of your media, which I also get. Neither is he praised. He has made some pointed anti-Bush statements, but so have most other leaders, but in more diplomatic ways. That being said, comparing Chavez to Hitler is historically just plain stupid; and until he's marching from country to country attempting a takeover and committing mass genocide as Hitler did, you ought to deflate and check your silly sounding jump-on-the-bandwagon rhetoric. There ARE other political ways for other countries to function successfully, even with Universal Health Care. Chavez is no angel, but then neither is Bush. They're just bonking antlers with eachother like a couple of testosterone filled rams, each certain that their way is the only way. Chill out, wait and see before hanging one of your own, IMHO.

Only Obama has the guts to tell the people what should have been said a long long time ago, but No the Hillary's of the world want to do business the old fashioned way, and you can see where that's got the country... absolutely NO WHERE. CHINA is the real super power of the planet, the US is now, thanks to shrub bush, a heavily debted country, who is totally lost. GO OBAMA GO

38. Americans seem so paranoid of other cultures now that they don't think anyone should even visit there, and even call their own traitors for daring to find out other ways of doing things, or the other side of things. Truth used to matter to Americans. All other countries have been visiting Cuba for decades. Tolerance for other cultures enables them to. You diss so many other countries, hell, you even diss friendly, mostly neutral Canada. What's wrong with you now?

39. We have been in debt since the beginning, grasshopper. Ever heard of the deficit? Yeah, it was there way before Bush came into power. And what about China? Sean Penn is in VENEZUELA. (Here, sound it out=Ven-iz-way-la!). The only gutless wonder making stupid ass remarks is you.

44. I feel that Sean Penn is not a journalist and that he is just using that as an excuse to hang out with Chavez. Chavez is a socialist and he has been seizing others properties in the name of national socialism. I wonder if Penn would want to get buddy buddy with Chavez if Chavez took everything that Penn owns. were that to happen, I am willing to bet that "journalist" Penn would have a different story to tell. he and the other Hollywood celebs that have leaned toward Chavez just show how ignorant they really are. they are nothing but empty headed puppets that are used by the likes of Chavez.

45. #24 you should ask Penn if he needs an apprentice to go along with him. If you have a problem with America and how it is run, take care of it here! Don't run off and pose as a press agent. He gets is eduction from a cracker jack box and acts like he is all knowing! And #22, he's not educated, es an actor, and obviously a good one becasue he tricked you!
